Peter J. Catalano, MD, FACS, FARS – Fellowship Director

Dr. Catalano is the Chief of Otolaryngology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and a Professor of Otolaryngology at Tufts University School of Medicine.  He is a native of New York and graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine whereupon he completed his residency training in Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA) and Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai Medical Center (New York, NY).  He is board certified in Otolaryngology.  He has served as Program Director since the Rhinology program’s inception while helping innovate many new technologies in the field of Otolaryngology.  He has lectured throughout the world and published numerous journal articles and book chapters on many areas of Minimally-Invasive Rhinologic Surgery.  His practice interests additionally include Pediatric Rhinology and Sleep Surgery.

Rohan C. Wijewickrama, MD

Dr. Wijewickrama is Co-director of the Rhinology Fellowship and Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Tufts University School of Medicine.  He is a native of North Carolina and graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology at State University of New York (SUNY)-Buffalo and fellowship training in Rhinology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center/Tufts.  He has served as the Co-director of the Rhinology Fellowship since 2013 and serves on the Graduate Medical Education Committee at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

Yusuf M. Gulleth, MD

Dr. Gulleth is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Tufts University School of Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.  He is a native of Tanzania and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.  He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology at University of Maryland Medical System.  His clinical interests include treatment of allergic rhinitis including subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy.

Rebecca Bailey MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM

Dr. Bailey received her MD from Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1979 and completed her Internal Medicine Residency training at Youngstown Hospital Association’s Southside and Northside Hospitals.  Dr. Bailey went on to finish her fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital in 1984.  She holds board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.
In addition to working in a busy clinical practice, Dr. Bailey served as Program Director for our Internal Medicine residency program Western Reserve Health Education for 12 years.  She is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).
Dr. Bailey’s interests outside of medicine include running and fitness, gardening, reading and music.  She is the president of the Youngstown Roadrunners club and is a member of bell choir, chancel choir, and praise band at her church.

Manuel Bautista, MD

Manuel Bautista, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine. 

Dr. Bautista received his Medical Degree in 1993 from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) in the Dominican Republic.  He did his residency at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, NJ, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine in 2003 at Allegheny General Hospital and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine in 2004 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Bautista has been faculty in our Internal Medicine program for 11 years.

In addition to our clinic practice, Dr. Bautista is also the current director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit and the Sleep Lab at Northside Medical Center.  When not working, he spends time with his 3 children and their activities, while also enjoying softball, biking and tennis and kayaking.

Ritha Kartan, MD, FCCP

Dr. Kartan attended Medical School at Nagarjuna University Siddharta/Guntur Medical College in Andhra Pradesh, India.

She did her Internal Medicine Residency at Cooper Hospital University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey, followed by fellowships in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

She is Board Certified in Sleep Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.  She is currently a staff physician at Trumbull Regional Medical Center and has been faculty in our Internal Medicine Program for 17 years. In addition, she is Associate Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical College.

Dr. Kartan is very involved in community activities.

Tonia L. Farmer, MD

Dr. Farmer graduated from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has expertise and understanding in all areas of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat). She brings a strong interest in the following areas: sinus, nasal, thyroid and sleep disorders, head and neck cancer, and general pediatric disorders. Her skills allow her to provide expert care in all areas of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Dr. Farmer is also one of the first doctors in Northeast Ohio to offer balloon sinuplasty in the office for the treatment of sinus disease.
