Our program is designed to provide comprehensive training for those wishing to pursue a career in primary general surgery or for those who are applying for post-graduate specialized surgical fellowships.

We offer an in-depth and diverse surgical experience. Surgical residents are offered the opportunity to participate in all operative procedures including surgical subspecialties such as head and neck, burns, oncology, cardiothoracic and peripheral vascular, colorectal, surgical endoscopy, plastic and reconstructive, urology, pediatric and transplant.

Our fully-accredited teaching program provides core general surgery and subspecialty experience to third and fourth year medical students.

The Department of Surgery has a faculty of more than 75 surgeons and 27 gynecologists who participate in resident teaching. Our staff of almost 175 primary care physicians complements the subspecialties.
