WRHE holds 13th Annual Resident Research Day

Western Reserve Health Education held its 13th Annual Resident Research Day Thursday, May 30 at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. The event celebrates resident accomplishments and the collaborative research environment at Western Reserve Health Education.  
Dr. Kimberly Howe, President and Designated Institutional Official of Western Reserve Health Education, presented the plenary session titled “The Evolution of Health Care Research.” This was followed by three oral research presentations by Dr. Ankit Amin, Dr. Ali Kimyaghalam and Dr. Geeti Sharma and 22 poster presentations.  Through the plenary session, oral research presentations and poster presentations, Resident Research Day showcases scholarly work conducted during the current academic year. Many of the posters presented have been accepted at national and international venues.

Oral presentations: 
Dr. Ankit Amin, MD, Ali Kimyaghalam, MD, and Dr. Geeti Sharma, MD,
Poster:
1st place – Travis Rosenkranz, MD
2nd place (tie) - Azzan Arif, MD; Amber Hicks-Thibodeau, MD; Adam Swiger, DO; and Vishnu Suresh Kumar, MD
3rd place (tie) – Brandon Dessecker, MD and Osa Osakue, MD. 
Resident Research Day began in 2007 and has grown to become a key conference where residents, students, and faculty present their scholarly research to a supportive audience of their peers.  Participants meet to exchange knowledge, theories, data and research findings.
