TRMC one of five in the state to earn Advanced Certification for Inpatient Diabetes Program

The Joint Commission has granted the Inpatient Diabetes Program at Trumbull Regional Medical Center with advanced certification.
The hospital is one of only 85 in the United States and one of five in Ohio to earn the distinguished certification—and the only facility in the Mahoning Valley to receive the designation.
The certification cycle is customarily valid for up to 24 months. The Inpatient Diabetes Program at Trumbull Regional been certified since 2010.
The program follows evidence based best practice for the care of the inpatient diabetic population and improves outcomes. Recertification is required every two years with an onsite visit from the Joint Commission. Other requirements include monthly performance improvement measures, inpatient satisfaction measures, hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia rates with analysis, and education of all diabetic inpatients and staff.  
The TRMC Diabetes Education department at Trumbull Regional also has an American Diabetes Association Education Recognized program for its outpatient as well to continue any diabetes care needs.
